Remix The Parade

We’re making the stems from our album Enjoy The Parade available for remixers to have their filthy way with. The goal is to collect enough remixes of our songs that we can release them as a CD. If you are interested in manipulating our tracks, they can be found on the links below. We’ve found a Creative Commons license that we believe will give you enough freedom to do whatever you need with your completed remix, even if we don’t end up putting it on the CD. By downloading the audio stems, you are agreeing to the terms and conditions of this Creative Commons license and the attached lengthy legalese document that mostly absolves us of any responsibility should you somehow be hurt or killed by our songs. FAQ

Q: What do I get out of this?

A: The chosen submissions will be mastered and included on a compilation CD (“Remix the Parade”) and anyone who is included on this CD will get 5 free copies of the CD as well as the right to buy additional copies from us at cost. Under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 license, you retain the right to use your mastered remix for other things as long as you give us attribution. That means you can play it at clubs, get it on internet radio, put it on your own album, and use it to promote yourself.

Q: How many submissions may I submit?

A: You can submit as many mixes as you like, but we’d like a variety of talent on the CD, so we’ll give priority to someone else’s first mix over your second one.

Q: Can I use copyrighted samples in my submission?

A: We don’t have the resources to license any copyrighted material on the CD, and we don’t want to get in trouble for using un-authorized samples on something we’re putting our names on, so the small print of the remix agreement is that you promise that everything in your submission is your work or ours.

Q: What are you looking for?

A: We’re hoping for a wide range of re-interpretations of the original material, and don’t really have any preconceived ideas or musical genres in mind. We value originality, but we’d like at least one of the songs on the CD to be “danceable.” Generally speaking, any submission over 8 minutes long probably won’t be considered.

Q: What about changing key, time signature or tempo?

A: Knock yourself out.

A few things.

Files are stereo .wav files. The “Strings” files have cello and violin panned hard right and left.

Please don't feel you need to overcompress your finished product. We”re getting everything professionally mastered, and we are savvy enough to be able to compensate for a slightly quieter song when listening to submissions.
